Each studio at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts was carefully designed for optimal functionality and safety, to provide the most appropriate space and best resources possible.
Natural light floods each workspace and high ceilings and expansive floor plans create an openness for creativity to expand and flourish.
All studios incorporate ample ventilation systems for sustained work. The Photography, Sculpture,
Ceramics and Painting Studios each have custom-designed exhaust systems for a safe and comfortable
work environment. Every classroom has a climate-control set point to maintain a comfortable, consistent
The Sculpture Studio features an expansive outdoor work space to provide a change of scene and take
advantage of pleasant weather.
Sculpture and Ceramics studios have large industrial floor drains for efficient cleanup. All studios have
floor drains and hose bibs.
Gas kilns were built in the Ceramics and Sculpture studios. The outdoor kiln yard houses the Raku kiln.
Each studio has dedicated storage. Student lockers are also available.
The Laura H. Miles Gallery features a full climate control system, including humidity control, to protect exhibited artwork.
Open Studio hours are posted in each studio, available from your instructor or at the front desk. Open Studio hours enable time for continued work outside of class and may be supervised or not.
