CAMP DETAILS
Below are details about the Summer Arts Camp experience to help your
child have the best possible experience.
Summer Arts Camp Schedule
Morning sessions: 9:30 a.m. to Noon
Lunch break: Noon to 1 p.m.
Afternoon sessions: 1 - 3:30 p.m.
Campers must be picked up promptly at the end of class. Late fees are charged
at 15 minutes or more.
Lunch & Snack Breaks
All classes take a 15-minute supervised snack break half-way through class. Campers participating in
full-day classes take a one-hour, supervised lunch break. Please pack an appropriate snack and/or
lunch
for your child or plan to purchase in the Art Center Café. The Art Center does not provide snacks
and lunches.
Please notify us at least three weeks in advance if your child has special dietary issues that may affect
the other campers and we will do our best to notify parents of the issue.
Please note: The Art Center is NOT a peanut-free facility.
Camp Attire
Summer Arts Camp classes use high-quality arts materials for all projects. Please dress your children in appropriate clothing as some pigments and materials may stain. The Art Center is not responsible for
clothing that is damaged in art classes. Children will play games outdoors during snack and lunch
breaks, weather permitting. Please dress your children in appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor
play (closed-toe athletic shoes are best).
Art Project Pick-up
Campers are so proud of their completed artwork! Yet some can’t be taken home until later. Instructors
will provide pick-up information. Please pick up children’s projects on time. We strongly recommend that
you bring your child with you to help identify their project.
All camp projects that are not picked up by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 12th, will be recycled.
Artist-Instructors
Summer Arts Camp instructors are all college graduates who are either teaching artists or art educators.
Camp assistants and interns are college students currently enrolled in studio art or art education courses.
All classes have an assigned instructor and many have one or more assistants.
Before/After Daycare
Creative Kids Academy next door is available for before or after care, for parent convenience.
Call 952-679-1375 to make daycare arrangements.
(Daycare fees not included in Summer Arts Camp registrations.)
REGISTRATION DETAILS
Age Groups & Class Sizes
In order to ensure a positive and successful camp experience, we ask that parents, guardians and
caregivers abide by the age restrictions when registering their children for classes. Children must have
reached the minimum age required by the date that the registered camp class begins. No exceptions
will
be made and documentation of age may be required.
To ensure that each camper has a good learning experience, Summer Arts Camp classes are limited
to a maximum of 16 campers per class (maximum 12 campers in stone and wood carving classes and
some Group D classes). Each class has one adult instructor, one adult assistant and often times one
college student intern supervising the children, so every child gets the attention and support they deserve.
Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Register early for the greatest selection.
Register by Phone or In Person
Registrations may also be made by phone by calling 952.473.7361, x. 16, and speaking with a Registrar.
All tuition fees must be paid in full when your register.
Tuition
Tuition fees range from $30 to $170 per class, depending on hours/week and type of art medium. Tuition
fees are listed by class for Art Center members and non-members. Memberships may be purchased at
time of registration and a 10% savings can be realized immediately.
Scholarships are available (see below).
Payment may be made online or by phone using Visa, Mastercard or American Express. If you’d like to pay
in cash or by check, you may register by mail or at the Art Center. Please visit a Registrar at the front desk.
Tuition Assistance
Scholarships based on financial need are available for campers. Funds are limited, so please apply at least
14 days prior to the class start date. Ask the Registrar for information, 952.473.7361, x. 16,
or download an application form
At the end of class, please pick up your child promptly. A $10 per 15-minute late fee per child will be
charged to parents when campers are not picked up on time after their Summer Arts Camp activities.
Late pick-up fees are due at pick up.
Cash, check, or credit card is accepted.
