Yoga for Artists

This 75 minute class will include an opening meditation, a series of asanas (poses) designed to align, open your body and quiet your mind, and a closing savasana (resting pose). This yoga class will be tailored to help you as an artist, find your inner self and open creative pathways. Proper alignment will be emphasized to facilitate healing and prevent injuries during your artistic endeavors. You will learn how to properly stretch and strengthen all the major muscle groups, leading to physical improvements and performance. (Please bring a yoga mat, strap and block. If you do not have these items, they will be available for purchase form the instructor.)

About Paul
In addition to teaching Yoga, Paul Cherba has a Watsu (WA-ter + shia-TSU) and Healing Dance practice in Plymouth and is a Shiatsu Massage Therapist at Eclectic Spalon in Orono. You might also find him assisting in Shiatsu classes at The School Of Shiatsu and Massage in Middletown, CA. Shiatsu (literally meaning "finger pressure") uses the same 14 meridian system, 5-Element Theory, and the concept of Yin and Yang (balance) that traditional Oriental Medicine uses. It balances the whole body through touch diagnoses, meridian stretching, massage (mostly) and energy work. He loves sharing his Shiatsu knowledge and you are sure to learn a point or two on your body that will encourage Chi (Energy) flow in his yoga classes. www.watsuyoga.com
